hi,
i always get
Login username/password does not match.

Neither using -p and -u nor double checking the .georc helped so far. But i can login on geocaching.com.
What am i doing wrong?

Tanks!

Did you update? From the Changelog:
...
2011-05-04      Rick Richardson <rick.richardson@comcast.net>
        * geo-nearest, etc., geo-common-gc: Changes for GC.com 05/04/11 update
...
$ wget http://geo.rkkda.com/geo-11-05-21-12-39-13.tar.gz
$ tar zxf geo-*.tar.gz
$ cd geo
$ make
$ make install

Works here:
$ geo-nearest
GC1NPYG 44.94743 -93.48930 Geocache-regular
GC10G15 44.94527 -93.49463 Geocache-regular

it was updated, when i wrote it - anyway i updated now again. but the problem remains.
waltermariaalexander:geo ls$ geo-nearest
dc: stack empty
geo-nearest: Login username/password does not match.
waltermariaalexander:geo ls$ cat ~/.georc
PASSWORD="name"
USERNAME="password"
LAT=n00.000.000	# Your home latitude in decimal or MinDec degrees
LON=o00.000.000	# Your home longitude in decimal or MinDec degrees
(i removed personal Data)

i still can login from web, and from iphone. am i doing something wrong? (for shure i do - but what?)

What is:

$ geo-nearest
dc: stack empty

Also, LON=w... or LON=e... NOT LON=o...

Try it with:

$ sh -x geo-nearest 2>xxx.err

And give me the xxx.err file.

i removed username and password from the file - i also removed at least the last numbers from the geo koordinates.

by doing this, i recognize that the script try to use my username as my password and other way around. why? this obviously could not work!

So the Problem is found - geo-nearest take my username as password and my password as username. how can i fix it?

OK, i was like dumb - i just declared username and password wrong (switched) in the .georc. So this is done! And the "dc stack" thing is also solved - i had a koordinate like xx.xxx.xxx and removed the dot so i have xx.xxxxxx and the dc stack error thing is gone.

Now there is another Problem: obviously my password, which is with special keys and more then 15 digits long - is like cut or so. when i change my PWD to a simpel one - geo-nearest works nearly* perfect - when i use MY password - it says wrong login.

*it did not throw errors - but it also did nothing!

I need the full xxx.err, with login and password, please. Otherwise I can't debug it.

Also:

LON=o13.2x29x5 is WRONG! Should be LON=e13.2x29x5

hi again,

i double checked the password special character thing and now it should be no problem, but something different is going wrong.
i added the xxx.err file again. [censored] (its larger than 20kb)

oh, and the o!=e thing, sorry it was a german english mistake because in german east is "ost".

Thanks!

You know, you should indicate if you are running on a NON-LINUX operating system.

These are "Rick Richardson's Linux Tools for Geocaching".

From the Changelog:
2011-05-29      Rick Richardson <rick.richardson@comcast.net>
        * geo-common-gc: Use gsed instead of sed on OSX.
